SATURDAY AFTERNOON BASEBALL LEAGUE "Ding Dong…that pitch is DEAD!"

Mock Draft #2

leave a comment »

The first mock draft turned out to be rather interesting.  Now lets see what happens if San Francisco takes by need 1st overall…

1st Pick: San Francisco Giants – Ichiro Suzuki- Pujols by far is the best player in the draft, but the Giants already have Prince Fielder @ 1st, and have plenty of bats to DH already.  Ichiro solidifies the outfield and is arguably the more valuable player for the team.

2nd Pick: Florida Marlins – Hanley Ramirez – This pick has been so obvious that Ramirez has already purchased a house,  has been living in Florida, and  his kids have been attending Florida schools since the end of last season .  I hear his wife is President of the PTA.

3rd Pick: Minnesota Twins –  Albert Pujols– Pujols is the best player in the draft.  Minnesota has no 1st baseman and that A+ range take doubles away. Pitchers pick their poison when facing Wright,  Pujols, A. Ramirez, Bay, Lind, Hunter, , &  2-3-4-5-6-7

4th Pick: New York Yankees – Joe Nathan– Best available player.  set-up man for Rivera and closer of the future.  Think the bullpen is nasty already? Just wait.

5th Pick: Philadelphia Phillies – Chone Figgins- upgrade of Inge at 3rd base, murders RH, solid defensively and boy does he have speed.

6th Pick – New York Yankees – Raphael Soriano– just imagine a bullpen of  Sherrill, Soriano, Nathan, & Rivera!  Starters go 5 innings for NY and GAME OVER!

7th Pick – Oakland A’s – Mark Teixeira– Needs to upgrade at 1st base.  Teixeira does the trick.

8th Pick – St Louis – Bobby Abreu– St Louis sees the good bats go and takes Abreu to fill the outfield.

9th Pick – New York Mets – Chipper Jones – best 3B available & Clutch Hitter.

10th Pick – Tampa Bay – Miguel Tejada– Clutch/A-1B @ SS in a weak SS draft.

11th Pick – San Diego – Scott Rolen– with only a 1st & 2nd in the draft needs to fill a hole at 3rd especially with 2 3rd baseman already drafted earlier.
