How the trade committee works
I’d like to take this time to explain to the league how the trade committee works.
When a trade is submitted to the league commissioner he forwards the trade to the Vice Commissioners and it is discussed. The vice commissioners then decide on the trade first and they each cast one vote. Once the votes from the two vice commissioners are cast, the Commissioner casts his vote. If the result of those is an approval (3-0 or 2-1), the trade is approved. If the result is (0-3) the trade is denied.
If the result of the Commissioner & Vice Commissioners’ vote is (1-2) the trade committee alternate is asked to cast his vote. If he votes against the trade, the trade is denied (1-3); if his vote is to approve (2-2) then the trade is forwarded to the League Treasurer to cast the tie breaking vote.
In the event that the Commissioner or the Vice Commissioners are involved in a trade, the trade committee alternate shall cast one of the initial votes.
