DL more in depth

In the SABLE rulebook the DL choices are 7, 15, 30, 45, 60 day DL.

It doesn’t specifically say which DL you are required to put a player on when injured, but I use the understanding that a player must be put on the DL for a length which is EQUAL to or GREATER than the remaining amount of injury.
Teams may elect to place a player on the DL at a later date but may not call up a player from the minors until the decision is made.

Example #1.  Player is injured for 18 days in game #1.  team elects to place the player on the 30 day DL in order to bring up a player from minors for game #2.  Player must spend 30 days on the DL.

Example #2.  Player is injured for 18 days in game #1.  Manager elects to hold off on placing player on the DL until injury is at 15 days during this time player injury is considered day-to-day. Manager uses only 24 healthy players for those days.  On day of game the player injury is now 15 days the team elects to place the player on the 15 day DL & call up a player from the minors.  Player must now only spend 15 days on the DL.

In each instance, it must be noted on the stat sheet ifand when the player will be put on the DL.  So that the league can track the injury and put it on the blog.
