Keeper List – Was it worth it?

Was it best for your team to throw it all in? Was it really that important to protect 7,11, 17 players?  Lets look and see how each team did in week one.

0 players kept: 3 Teams. Florida, Tampa Bay, San Diego.  Combined Record (4-5)

Lynn & Mike decided to blow up their teams and draft #1 & #2 in this year’s draft.  San Diego well didn’t have a choice in the matter.  So how did they do?

Tampa Bay was the only team of the three that won their series.  Lynn lost to Alvin, and San Diego lost to Tampa.

1 player kept: 2 teams. Boston, Washington.  Combined Record (5-1)

Boston kept Jacoby Ellbury.  He homered in Boston’s 1st at-bat of the season.  Boston swept Oakland.

Washington kept Dustin Pedroia.  He hit a walk-off 11th inning home run vs. New York. Washington won 2 of 3.

4 players kept: Seattle (1-2)

Seattle lost 2 of 3 games to Atlanta.

7 players kept: 2 teams. Oakland & Atlanta.  Combined record 2-4

Oakland got swept by Boston.  Atlanta won 2 of 3 vs Seattle.

11 Players kept.  St Louis.  (2-1)

Kyle Lohse, pitched GM3 8IP and got the win. Tony Cruz – batted .416 (5-12). Chris Carpenter – Game 1  9.2 IP, 4ER,  ND,  Cliff Lee –  9IP, 1ER, 10K Win.  David Freese .692 3HR, 6RBI (9-13). Salas – (0-1) 1 Save.

17 Players. 1 Team. New York (1-2)

Koji Uehara – Game 2 1/3 IP, John Axford – Game 1 2 IP, 1ER,3K, Loss. Jhonny Venters – 1 IP, DP. Ian Kennedy – 8IP, 2ER, 4K, ND.  Mark Teixeira –  .750 2rbi (3-4). Dexter Fowler- .250 (3-12)  6 Ks.  Curtis Granderson – .083, HR, RBI (1-12).  Matt Trainor – 2-4 HR 2rbi. Jose Tabata –  .071 (1-14). Derek Jeter – .125 (1-8).  Ian Nova – 3IP, 9H, 5ER Loss.  Steven Strasburg – Game 2 6.2 IP, 1ER, 6K, 5H, Win. Jose Montero – 1-2 as a pinch hitter. 2-4 as a starter.       4 Yankee keepers did not make an appearance in the series.

    • I may still have pennants from all the teams i could bring down. I gave them to my kids so I dunno if they ended up in the trash or not.
